Jennifer Hudson and her fiance, David Otunga, are 2 years shy of being engaged for a decade. It seems like many have forgotten that the Oscar award winner has been engaged to the WWE wrestler for 8 years. The two got engaged in 2008.Jennifer_Hudson’s_ring_different_angle

Little David Jr. Would Like His Parents Married:

Typically, traditional engagements last about a year or less as the couple is planning their nuptials and preparing to walk down the aisle. However, J-Hud feels like if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! She’s in no need to rush down the aisle but at this point, would it really be rushing?

According to Black Sports Online, David Jr. would like to see his parents married and often pressures them into making their love official. However, his mom feels that many couples who are married don’t last as long as she has with Otunga.

This is true.

Everyone has married us off anyway and we’re still a family but there’s no difference. I’m a believer in you do well and better in what you want to do rather than what you have to do. If you have to be somewhere, you don’t want to do it no more.

Back in 2012, Jennifer Hudson and her fiance, David, were interviewed by Oprah and she jokingly asked if their son would be 18 by the time they wed. Laughing, Jennifer said no and reminded Oprah that she is the one who advised her to take her time.

It’s Been 8 Years, But JHud’s Still Not Ready:

Then, she was on Wendy in 2014, and of course, Wendy addressed the pink elephant in the room. At that time, Jennifer and David had been engaged for 6 years.

Simply put, she’s holding off until she knows for sure! That’s right girl!!!

“Well the ring is still there and we will get married one day but again, my thing is, once I get married, I don’t believe in divorce. And so when I get married, it’s for good, OK? We want to be completely sure we’re together and we’re happy.”

Jennifer and David got engaged on her birthday. Maybe she’ll wed him in their 10 year mark or maybe little David will be 18 and it’ll be a graduation gift.
