Devastated Tina Turner Spreads Her Late Son’s Ashes In California

It’s every parent’s worse nightmare to bury their children.

But music legend Tina Turner sadly spread the ashes of her late son Craig Raymond Turner, on Thursday.

Her first born child tragically committed suicide at just 59 earlier this month.

Breaking her silence on his shocking death, the 78-year-old shared an picture on Twitter, as she joined family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California.

Craig – who was in real estate at Rodeo Realty was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, at his home in Studio City. Los Angeles County coroner’s office assistant chief Ed Winter confirmed his death as a suicide, although the official autopsy is still pending.

TMZ reports that his mom was attending Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week just a few short hours before his body was found. Craig reportedly did not have children or was married at the time of his death.

‘He Will Always Be My Baby’

With her hand over the railings of a boat, Tina is seen dropping a rose into the ocean in the photo.

She wrote in the caption: ‘My saddest moment as a mother. On Thursday, July 19, 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California…

‘He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby.’

Tina was just 18 when she gave birth to Craig, his biological father was a saxophonist named Raymond Hill. 

When Tina married Ike Turner, he adopted Craig and gave him his surname.

Tina Now Lives In Switzerland


Tina Turner has two biological children: her son Craig, and Ronnie, 57, her and Ike’s only child together.

Tina adopted Ike’s two children when they married in 1962; Ike Jnr, 59, and Michael, 58.

It has been well reported that Ike regularly abused Tina until she ran out on him in the middle of the night.

After a violent altercation on their way to a concert in 1976, all she was left with was a bloodstained white suit she was in, and just 36 cents in her pocket.

Since 1994, the ‘Proud Mary’ singer lives in Switzerland with her German music producer Erwin Bach. The couple married five years ago.
