Janel Sands had her pick of men on the outside world.

But why chase after a businessman, a doctor or even a rapper selling mixtapes on the street – when you could be with a prison inmate? Sands – who worked as a corrections officer – has been arrested for allegedly having sex with an inmate.

The 26-year-old was apparently in her element working at the Deberry Special Needs Facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to an indictment obtained by Fox 17, Sands had sexual intercourse with the inmate. She was reportedly intimate with the inmate once in March and again in April.

‘This Behavior Is Criminal And Strictly Prohibited’

Sands was booked into the Davidson County Jail Thursday morning – her name and face spread all over social media like wildfire.

She reportedly had sex with a man who is currently assigned to the Trousdale Turner Correctional Center. The medium security facility in Hartsville, Tennessee holds a maximum of 2552 male inmates.

The Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC) gave a statement to Fox 17, where they condemned the corrections officer’s behavior.

“Not only does this type of behavior violate the TDOC Code of Conduct, this behavior is criminal and strictly prohibited by state and federal law,” the statement read.

“The safe and secure operation of prisons is key to the Department’s mission and any threat to that mission will be rooted out and dealt with to the fullest extent of the law,” the statement went on to say.  ‘As you can see from the vigorous prosecution by the Department, this type of behavior will never be tolerated by TDOC.’

Meanwhile Sands is now on the other side of the law. She was charged with the shameful act of having sex with prisoners or inmates. She is now being held on $3,500 bond.
