Derrick Frazier, 32 year-old man from Bradenton, Florida was not always the best husband according to his wife. He had just got married in August and he was already allegedly cheating on his wife with another woman.
So, his wife decided to give him a taste of his own medicine. She decided to let him know that she was cheating too with Dequan Randolph, 30. It was just a little white lie. The wife had no idea that her lies would take the life of an innocent man.
It just so happens that on Thursday, November 3rd, witnesses, including Frazier’s wife, – who has not been named – stated that he pulled up to the home, where she and the Randolph were standing.
Frazier then got out of his pickup truck without uttering a word. He reportedly walked up to Randolph and shot him in the center of the chest before driving away.
Randolph was pronounced dead at the scene.
Frazier was arrested three hours after the fatal shooting when police put out a fugitive alert. He was found “several miles from the crime scene,” and he was taken to the county jail, where he was interviewed by police.
Initially, he denied being at the scene and then after several hours of investigation he admitted to being there.
In a mere coincidence, he was driving past his home and he just so happened to see his wife standing outside with Dequan Randolph, a man that his wife admitted to having an affair with.
Derrick Frazier has been charged with second-degree homicide.
Family members of Dequan Randolph held a candlelight vigil at the scene of the crime to share funny stories and fond memories.
Several family members were present including Randolph’s stepson, Zakai Cherenfant, 11, who cried as he held a candle and a picture of his deceased step-father and his mother, Rosemary Randolph.
Randolph’s father, Johnny C. Harris, stared in silence at the place where his son had been found. Before the vigil, he said he was deeply hurt.
Just hurt, he said, his gruff voice trembling slightly. Just to see him laying over there on the ground. I stood over there all day and watched that… just hurt. About nothing, it shouldn’t have been. It shouldn’t have never happened. That’s the way I feel.
