NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — In a bizarre story of passion and intoxication, a man caught a charge after literally slinging a biscuit at his ex-girlfriend’s face.
According to WLBT-3, 45-year-old Jeffrey Tomerlin has been arrested after police claim he attacked his ex-girlfriend when he saw her out with a new boyfriend.
The source mentions that local police responded to a domestic disturbance on Sunday, August 19. Reportedly, Tomerlin noticed his ex in the backseat of her new boyfriend’s car as they were driving in a Kroger parking lot.
WLBT states that the victim accused Tomerlin of throwing a biscuit “really hard,” hitting her in the face. After, she notes pain started striking in her face.
According to the victim, she and her boyfriend attempted to leave the area. However, Tomerlin chased them, punching on the car’s hood. The source says he left a large dent. Then, he allegedly threatened to kill them both.
The victim says the incident had her “very much in fear.” Reportedly, she also believed Tomerlin would’ve really hurt her if her boyfriend and another person hadn’t stopped him.
When officers got to the scene, they mentioned Tomerlin was “unruly” and “uncooperative.” Likewise, he allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol.
After arrest, Tomerlin was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. During his arrest, he kept banging his head on patrol car windows, so authorities thought to take him for evaluation first.
Now, the suspect faces the following charges:
- public intoxication
- and assault.
He is being held on a $3,100 bond.
The aforementioned accusations are documented in a Davidson County affidavit, as reports the source.
Police officers were waiting with him to be medically cleared. According to officers, he was so intoxicated to the point he was considered a danger to himself.
Likewise, Tomerlin was stated to be an “unreasonable annoyance,” as notes the affidavit. This is what other witnesses in the area labeled him.
DOESN’T PAY TO HOLD ON
Unfortunately, some people don’t know how to let go of past relationships and connections. Since Tomerlin ingested loads of alcohol and revealed his true feelings toward the ex, he almost ended up in a worse situation than the aforementioned charges.
When someone moves on, you should let them. There are billions of people in the world — and over 320 million in the United States. Of that number, at least 100 million are adults. Likewise, at least 50 million are of the opposite gender — or same gender according to your preference.
If you can’t let go, there are personal issues you should work out within yourself. Never allow jealousy to overtake your freedom.
