“He would whoop her, beat her,” said Lucille Isaac, Bria’s grandmother. “‘No more,’ we would tell her, ‘Bria you need to leave him alone.’ She wouldn’t do it. She wouldn’t do it.
The family of Bria Issac, 28 year-old woman of Memphis, tried to convince Bria to leave her abusive boyfriend, Joshua Fisher, for years but she refused.
Issac had been in a relationship with Fisher for 10 years. Despite the fact that he allegedly physically abused her often, she always gave him a second chance.
Issac’s family shared with Memphis, Tennessee news station, WREG, that they believe that Bria finally decided to leave Fisher after years of abuse. However, that decision would sadly cause her to lose her life.
On October 15th, Joshua Fischer, 29, allegedly shot Bria Issac and left her for dead in her bathroom. Neighbors heard loud screams from Issac’s apartment, however, they weren’t alarmed. It was typical to hear those types of sounds coming from her apartment.
Issac’s mother, Melissa Issac, was overcome with grief at the horrific way her daughter was killed.
He shot my baby in the head twice and once in her chest, then he lived there in the apartment three days while my daughter was bent backwards over a bathtub, said Isaac.
Police were able to arrest Fisher after witnesses who he confessed to came forward.
On Thursday, emotions ran high in a Memphis courtroom when the Issac family attended Fischer’s arraignment. Confusion occurred over Fischer’s low bail amount and the Issac family erupted.
However, they didn’t know that the low bond amount was for another charge.
Sadly, the Issac family just wants justice for their loved one.
