Are you ready for Baller Wives? Baller Wives is the newest VH1 reality show which features the spouses of athletes Michael Vick, Brent Grimes, Asante Samuel, Chris Chambers, Julius Jones, and Channing Crowder. Think Basketball Wives except the sport is Football. The show really could have been called Football Wives but I digress. One of the couples on the show has an interesting past that may be explored on the show.
Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chris Chambers will be featured on the show with his wife, Stacey Bernice Saunders. The couple is happily married and expecting their second child. However, Stacey and Chris weren’t always on good terms as she was once arrested for stalking him.
Here’s What Happened:
According to the SanDiegoTribune, in December of 2009, Chambers was married to another woman, Christina, and he and Saunders had an extramarital affair. Chambers admitted to the affair and tried to move on with his wife of 3 years. While Chambers was married to Christina for 3 years, they had been together for 11 years. During their relationship, he was involved with Saunders. When Chris tried to cut it off, Stacey was haven’t it. She allegedly stalked Chris, his wife, mother-in-law and his sister-in-law. Sources say that Christina Chambers had also been forced to upgrade the security system on their home at that time and hired private security to sit outside the home after Stacey Saunders threatened to show up.
From April through the month of September in 2009, Saunders allegedly sent vulgar and derogatory emails, text messages, as well as phone calls to Chris Chambers and his entire family. At the time, Chris was playing with the San Diego Chargers. Saunders allegedly repeatedly called the Chargers’ practice facility making derogatory comments about Chambers. Because she was not ready to move on, she stalked Chris to the point where he filed a restraining order.
The San Diego Tribune reported that Chris Chambers filed a request for a restraining order in the summer of 2009, saying Saunders “launched an incessant attack verbally on me (himself), and now my wife, her mother and sister.”
Because Saunders and Chris Chambers failed to show up in court, Chambers’ restraining order request was dropped in June of 2009. Interestingly enough, a week later, he divorced from his wife citing irreconcilable differences. Despite the fact that Chambers once filed a restraining order against Saunders, he continued to pursue a relationship with this woman despite her threats and harassment to his family. In November of 2009, the Chargers cited Chambers’ off-field drama as a contributing factor to the team’s decision to release him. He was let go November 2nd and was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs.
In a strange twist of events, Chambers divorce was finalized on July 22, 2010. Just 2 days after his divorce, Chris Chambers married the same woman that stalked him. According to Black Sports Online, Chris Chambers married Stacey Bernice Saunders on July 24, 2010 in Las Vegas. Despite the fact that the couple had a rough, unconventional start, they appear to have had no drama in their marriage. The couple reportedly are happy and in love.
