Sure, there’s a lot of pressure these days to go “above and beyond” with marriage proposals. However, maybe this is a bit too extra. A tornado proposal?
MCLEAN, TEXAS — Alex Bartholomew thought it was time to take his relationship to the next available level with girlfriend Britney Fox Cayton.
So, on May 16, he did just that.
An immortalized proposal…
Bartholomew, a millworks specialist at Home Depot, mentions as follows.
“It’s scary to ask someone to spend the rest of their lives with you.”
Um, no. It’s scary to encounter a tornado, let alone use one as a proposal tool.
But, actually, he wasn’t afraid of the tornado and neither was his fiancée.
As it turns out, Bartholomew is also a storm chaser and has been since 2010, according to People.
“I wanted to combine my two greatest loves — Britney and mother nature — into one shot. I wasn’t scared of the tornado, the only nerve-wracking part was the proposal itself.”
The source says that, ever since the couple have been together, Cayton has wanted to accompany Bartholomew in a ride-along. This was the first tornado they’ve seen together.
They tried once before, but the attempt failed. So, this occasion is extra momentous for them.
Nevertheless, “they’s crazy”…
He even said he wanted to get closer. According to the source, they were a mile away from the weather phenomenon.
“I like to get closer. However, I didn’t want to push the limits while asking her to marry me.”
Yeah, good job on that, Bartholomew. Great decision to hold off getting closer to “God’s Finger.”
