For the first time ever, just days after laying her husband, Sgt. La David Johnson, to rest, Myeshia Johnson is speaking out. Myeshia, who is 6 months pregnant with her and Sgt. Johnson’s third child, has had to endure one of the worst types of pain there is, after her husband, along with three other military service men were killed in Niger in early October. *Scroll to bottom for interview video*
After their deaths, Donald Trump took two weeks to finally pick up the phone and place a presidential condolence call Myeshia. Florida Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, along with La David’s mother and father and others were riding in the car with Myeshia listening to the phone call on speakerphone as they were on their way to greet La David’s body. Hours later, Rep. Wilson publicly blasted Trump for telling Myeshia that her dead husband ‘knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurts anyway.’ Then La David’s mother also confirmed Trump said it. Trump however, blatantly lied and tried to discredit Rep. Wilson all over social media and in an interview, as did his White House staff as well.
Sgt. Johnson’s Widow Tells All
Now Myeshia is speaking out in a Good Morning America interview with anchorman, George Stephanopoulos, and she is very upset and offended by what Trump said to her. She also spoke on a few other facts regarding her beloved husband, including the fact that they’ve been friends since the age of 6. See what she had to say below and check out the video of her full interview at the bottom of the article.
‘Yes Trump Said What He Lied And Said He Didn’t…It Hurt’
Myeshia: Me and my family was in the limo to receive my husband from I think it was Denver, Dover, we went to…Dover, and we was literally on the airport strip getting ready to get out and he [Trump] called Master Sergeant Neil’s phone. I asked Master Sergeant Neil to put his phone on speaker so my aunt and uncle could hear as well. And he goes on to saying his statement…
Myeshia: Yes the President, said that “he knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyway.” And it made me cry ’cause I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said he couldn’t remember my husband’s name. The only way he remembered my husband’s name is because he told me he had my husband’s report in front of him and that’s when he actually said La David. I heard him stumbling on trying to remember my husband’s name and that’s what hurt me the most, because if my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risked his life for our country why can’t you remember his name. And that’s what made me upset and cry even more because my husband was an awesome soldier. He did what it takes other people like five years to do in three years. So imagine if my husband was here now. It took my husband three years to make E-5 — it takes other soldiers five to six years just to make E-5. So if he was here now he woulda been on his way to being the E-6 or E-7. My husband had high hopes in the military career
George Stephanopoulos: What did you say to the President?
Myeshia: I didn’t say anything I just listened.
GS: But you were upset when you got off the phone?
Myeshia: Oh very, very upset and hurt. Very, it made me cry even worse.
‘Trump Couldn’t Remember My Husband’s Name’
Myeshia Reveals Fact About Her & Rep. Frederica Wilson…Shuts Down Haters
Rep. Frederica Wilson was accused, by a few Trump followers, of “politicizing” the death of Sgt. La David Johnson, because she revealed the insensitive phone call Trump made to Myeshia. But now, Myeshia has officially burst those haters’ bubbles. Turns out, Rep. Wilson, Myeshia, and La David go waaaay back…she’s like family to them. So when Wilson spoke out, it was not just as a “politician,” it was as a human being angered by what had just happened to her loved one:
Myeshia: My uncle-in-law was Ms. Wilson’s elementary school principal and my husband was in her 5,000 role model program that’s why she’s well connected with us because she’s been in our family since we were little kids.
“Ms. Wilson Was 100% Correct”
When asked about how Trump accused Rep. Frederica Wilson of lying about how he told Myeshia that her husband, La David, “knew what he signed up for, Myeshia CONFIRMED that Rep. Wilson was 100% accurate:
GS: The President said that the congresswoman was lying about the phone call.
Myeshia: Whatever Ms. Wilson said was not fabricated. What she said was 100 percent correct. It was Master Sgt. Neil, me, my aunt, my uncle, and the driver, and Ms. Wilson in the car, the phone was on speaker phone. Why would we fabricate something like that?
GS: Is there anything you’d like to say to the President now?
Myeshia: No. I don’t have nothing to say to him.
