It’s a celebration! Prince Harry, a grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and fifth in line to the throne, is marrying actress, Meghan Markle. On Monday morning, Kensington Palace announced that the Royal and the Suits actress will marry in the spring of 2018. According to the New York Times, Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are expected to be known as the duke and duchess of Sussex after they are married, according to the British news media, although she may be known informally as Princess Meghan. If Prince Harry were to decline the dukedom, he would remain Prince Henry of Wales his official name. Can we just stop and recognize that we will have a black princess?
When Harry Met Meghan:
It feels as if we have watched Prince Harry grow up. Over the years, he was always known as the bad boy of Wales but he has changed his persona as he has gotten older, more wiser, and definitely more handsome. I think we all knew that Prince Harry would find his bride. However, many people were surprised that he chose a middle-class, divorced biracial actress whose mother is an African-American yoga instructor and her father is a white cinematographer. Proving that none of that matters to him, Prince Harry once issued a statement in defense of his girlfriend as he was disappointed with how she was being treated.
So, while the public may have disapproved of their union, Prince Harry revealed that his mother, the late Princess Diana, would have loved Meghan. His father, Prince Charles, reportedly is very impressed with Meghan and she bonded with the Queen over their love of dogs.
Can you believe they met on a blind date? According to the Daily Mail, a friend set them up and Meghan had no idea that she was going on a royal date. She simply asked their mutual friend if Harry was nice. Harry shared that when he met Meghan he fell in love with her instantly. Surprising, he knew Meghan was the one from the first day they met.
The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was confirmation to me that all the stars were aligned – everything was just perfect. It was this beautiful woman – just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life; I fell into her life. We’re a fantastic team, we know we are, and we hope over time to try to have as much impact on all the things we care about as possible, Prince Harry said in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation .
The couple hasn’t been dating for very long. In fact, it appears that they have been dating at least a year. However, Prince Harry knew she was the one so he didn’t waste any time. After asking permission from Meghan’s parents, Prince Harry popped the question during a ‘cozy night in’ at his Nottingham Cottage when they were cooking Miss Markle’s signature chicken dish. Dropping to one knee, the Prince barely managed to finish his proposal before the actress interrupted: ‘Can I say yes now?’
The couple will have a church wedding in spring 2018 and we can’t wait. Black Twitter has already reacted with many people wanting invitations to the wedding as we celebrate our black princess.
We got us a Black princess ya’ll. You really can’t tell me a damn thing for the rest of the day because it won’t matter. Shout out to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Their wedding will be my Super Bowl. pic.twitter.com/WmBnGm5AuZ

Meghan does pass and there are conversations we can have about that, but the reality is she is biological a Black woman who was raised by a Black woman. No one can take that away from her. So Imma celebrate. pic.twitter.com/Vik0QaSP3P

my favorite part of this is going to be when Prince Harry invites his personal friends Barack and Michelle. Donald will have to hate from outside of the Abbey.
